The history of the Museum of World Treasures in Wichita, KS

The Museum of World Treasures in Wichita, Kansas, is a museum that tells the story of the world’s cultures and history. The museum was founded in 1999 by Mike and PAT Erdman. The Erdmans are Wichita natives and have a passion for collecting. They began collecting in the 1970s when they bought and sold antique firearms. The Museum of World Treasures is located in downtown Wichita. The museum is situated in a converted office building. The museum’s three floors are filled with exhibits that showcase the Erdmans’ collection.  Visit this link for more information.

The museum has something for everyone. Visitors can see Egyptian mummies, dinosaur fossils, and rare coins. The museum also has a hands-on area where children can try on armour and handle ancient artefacts. The Museum of World Treasures is a non-profit organization. The Erdmans have dedicated their lives to collecting and preserving artefacts. The museum is run by a small staff and relies on volunteers. The Erdmans continue to add to the collection. In addition, they often travel to other countries to purchase new items. The Museum of World Treasures is open to the public from Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free for members and children under three. General admission is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for students. Active military personnel and their families receive free access.
